Why the location matters
Lecong, Shunde is China’s largest furniture manufacturing and trading cluster, which keeps solid-wood supply, hardware, fabric and finishing subcontractors within a 30 km radius of the workshop.
In practice this shows up in lead time rather than in price. A fabric change, a different hinge, a tannin-blocking primer for an oak order — all of it is available the same week, from suppliers we can walk into. Factories outside a cluster quote the same MOQ and then add two weeks every time a specification changes.
Foshan is roughly 40 minutes from Guangzhou South railway station, 90 minutes from Guangzhou Baiyun airport and 2.5 hours from Hong Kong, which makes a factory visit a day trip rather than an expedition.

Cutting, assembly, finishing, sewing and packing are all in-house. Nothing that determines the quality of the finished unit is subcontracted, which is what makes a single golden sample a meaningful production reference.

Timber is kiln-dried and held at 8-12% moisture content before machining. Above 14% the joints move in dry heated interiors and the finish cracks within one winter.

Production runs in our own workshop in Lecong Town, Shunde District, Foshan, Guangdong, China, which has been making wooden cat and dog furniture since 2016.
